ANSA workprogramme 1996 - 1997

Overview

These pages present the projects which are the main part of the ANSA Workprogramme for the period to March 1997.

Each project has well defined deliverables, which are of real practical use to our sponsors.

ANSA is focussing in two areas:

These foci are derived from APM's third area of work:

Advanced CORBA features are of interest to telecommunications equipment producers and system integrators as well as providers of services with real time or mixed media requirements (e.g. command and control).

Internet activities are aimed at end users and service providers. They reflect the rapid rate of change of technology and applications in the marketplace and aim to offer benefits in the very near term.

The Futures work has proved to be of interest to all our sponsors and results are already being distributed.

In addition to the ANSA Workprogramme, APM will be making its results from other technology projects available to the ANSA sponsors. Relevant projects are: E2S (dead hyperlink - http://www.multiplecx.org/e2s/index.htm), ReTINA, and DCAN (dead hyperlink - http://www.isi.gov.uk/isi/hpip/dcan.htm).

APM will be continuing its membership in OMG, W3C and IETF, contributing ANSA ideas, supporting ANSA sponsors in their contributions and monitoring on behalf of the consortium as a whole.

APM will be enhancing its vigorous programme of technology transfer, arranging a regular programme of visits and activities with sponsors individually, as well as consortium workshops as appropriate.

Here is a shortcut to project descriptions.

Here is a list with references to the presentations of the projects at the ANSA Management and Technical Committee meeting, held in Cambridge on 19 and 20 March 1996.
