About the seminar
A look at the materials, manufacturing and structural advances that have bought
the semiconductor industry from the first transistor to the current
high speed/high density semiconductor integrated circuits.

About the speaker
Steve Hill graduated from Manchester University in 1983 with an Honors Degree in Physics.
He then went on to obtain his PhD in Physics from the same institution in 1987.
In 1988 he joined the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at
the University of Salford as a Research Office in the area of Robotics.
He is now a senior lecturer in the Computing, Science & Engineering School
at the University of Salford and has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate
students for 18 years in the areas of digital electronics, communications,
networking and optoelectronics.
He is involved in Network and Communications research with an interest in optical
and sensor network system
