About the seminar
Sydney Padua is not a computer scientist. She is a graphic artist and animator. She is the author of the The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage steampunk comic. It was for this work that in 2015 she was awarded the biennial Neumann Prize of the British Society for the History of Mathematics. She spoke at the Oxford University symposium to celebrate Ada Lovelace’s 200th birthday and an audience member was moved to comment “You do the Neumann prize great honour”.
