The author attempts to identify and present the influence of Allied cryptanalytic efforts before and during World War Two on the advent of the electronic computer, as well as to evaluate its significance within a context of the scientific and engineering progress sparked by the wartime projects.

About the speaker

Marek Grajek is a freelance consultant on the applications of cryptology in the business and administration. An occasional journalist and passionate historian of his discipline, he is the author of several books on the history of cryptology
